2019 Selections

I didn’t make a start on printmaking until July 2019, so I have only included two prints for this year.

Titi von Tranz

It begins here. There are precursors to this artist’s life, for sure. But the printmaking begins here. Dani’s death projected me into this arena. Gave me a sense of time ticking away. The idea that what’s important is to spend whatever time you have left working on that THING. Challenging that THING. I gave these prints to people I knew who were Dani’s friends. Their reaction encouraged me to carry on.

Still Life with Wine Glass

I worked on this linocut at a workshop run by Eric Gaskell. It is based on a still-life drawing I did at another class of Eric’s. I submitted the print to the Rugby Open exhibition in 2019 and was delighted to have it accepted.
